Passionate about people, plants, and animals?
The Nature Connection welcomes your skills and enthusiasm!
The Nature Connection internships offer practical, hands-on experience at a small non-profit dedicated to making therapeutic nature-based programming accessible and adapted for people with limited access to the outdoors. Nature Connection serves three key populations: youth-at-risk, adults and children with disabilities, and elders in memory care.
Assist in program delivery alongside Nature Connection staff and volunteers, complete program development projects that further organizational goals and support general administration, and learn the inner workings of a non-profit. Ideal candidates have interests in fields such as environmental education, alternative therapies, and/or social work. Make a positive difference! Goals and benefits of Nature Connection programming include improved well-being, social engagement, self-knowledge, and emotional intelligence. This is an opportunity to get involved in impactful work.
The Nature Connection offers several types of internships, follow the links below for more information!
Things to keep in mind when considering an internship with The Nature Connection:
- We are a mobile program. You are responsible for being able to get yourself to and from our office in Concord (located on commuter rail). While we can assist in transport to sites, having your own car/transport is a huge plus.
- Scheduling is flexible, though program delivery is only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. Mondays are not an available day for Program Interns.
- Get academic credit from college/university! (you are responsible for coordinating this with your college/university and letting NC know of any forms/papers/projects/evaluations needed in order to obtain your credit)
- You will have access to the same professional development opportunities available to our staff
- Training is provided and CORI/SORI background check is required.
